Amy Adams ‘Signs on to Gillian Flynn TV Series’
Amy Adams has signed on to appear in the small-screen adaptation of Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn’s debut novel, according to reports.
The American Hustle star will play reporter Camille Preaker in Sharp Objects, who returns to her hometown after a short stay at a psychiatric hospital and begins investigating a murder involving two young girls.
Flynn, who previously worked as an Entertainment Weekly writer and TV critic, will be hoping for similar success with her TV series after her critically-acclaimed novel Gone Girl was brought to the big screen in 2004.
The film, starring Rosamund Pike and Ben Affleck, was a massive hit and raked in more than $369 million worldwide.
Adams, who was due to work with director Vallee on a Janis Joplin project, has a busy few months ahead as she stars as plucky reporter Lois Lane in the Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice blockbuster, due out in March.
