Britney Spears Suffers Concert Mishap
Singer Britney Spears was literally stuck atop a tree after suffering a stage malfunction during her concert on Saturday.
The 34-year-old pop star is currently performing shows as part of her Las Vegas residency series Britney: Piece of Me and when she graced the stage over the weekend, Spears found herself stuck to a tree while singing her hit song “Toxic.”
Fortunately the entertainer was able to keep it professional, dancing and singing while a stagehand unhitched her from a harness that broke down. When functioning properly the harness attached to her body allows Spears to fly over members of the audience, but due to the mechanism failing she had to stay rooted to the tree.
When she was released from the harness by the stagehand, Spears walked down some stairs attached to the tree prop and continued the show.
The entire incident was captured in video footage obtained by TMZ.
Just a few days into 2016, the musician has experienced many clumsy moments.
On New Year’s Day, Spears took to Instagram to post a picture of a facial injury, informing fans she collided with a pole.
“Good morning 2016! Don’t mind the little bruise on my forehead… Ran into a pole,” she added in the photo’s caption.
Meanwhile Britney has plenty of things to keep her focused as the year unfolds, including new music.
In November the singer confirmed via social media she has been in the studio creating fresh songs.
“Working hard and hardly working…new album…wheeeee!” she wrote alongside a photo of herself and two friends pulling secretive poses on Instagram and Twitter.
Spears’ 2013 album Britney Jean boasted hit single “Work B***h” and will.i.am collaboration “It Should Be Easy,” following their successful teaming up on his song “Scream & Shout.”
Her Las Vegas concert residency Britney: Piece of Me began in December 2013 and it officially comes to an end on April 22.
