With high winds ravaging Northeast Ohio on March 8 as high as 60 mph, a 4-year-old girl in Lyndhurst was literally blown off her feet.

Her mother, Brittany Gardner, posted the 10-second surveillance video of little Madison holding onto the front storm door for dear life as the wind carried her away — almost blowing the door off its hinges — like a scene out of The Wizard of Oz.

You can hear the wind whipping and Gardner gasping for a split second before she realized her daughter was OK. Gardner had a sense of humor about it as she set the vignette to the tune of “Come Fly With Me” by Frank Sinatra.

“It sure is windy out there!,” she wrote, “All I hear is “mommm!” So I looked back and she’s pinned between the house and the glass door. She is okay and laughing along with it!”

The virtual community got a big kick out of it. The video went viral with 441,000 views and over 4,000 likes. The consensus of comments ranged from, “OMG,” to “still laughing.”

The short video is addictive with one user commenting, “I can’t stop watching this. Lol.”

“She is totally OK,” Gardner said to television station WJW in Cleveland. “She was scared at first, then was laughing away at it. She held on until I took her off the handle.”

Gardner also posted the video to Twitter.

She tweeted, “Madison got carried away in the Ohio winds today,” which was retweeted over 5,000 times with over 12,000 likes.

Residents in the area got a reprieve from the gusty windstorm with a snow shower on March 10, which could mean a welcomed snow day for young Madison. Hopefully, she won’t have to face those high winds ever again.
