Bryce Dallas Howard Auctioning Golden Globes Gown for Charity
Actress Bryce Dallas Howard is auctioning the off-the-rack designer gown she wore to the Golden Globes on Sunday for charity. The Jurassic World star hit the red carpet at the annual prizegiving in a dark blue, sequined Jenny Packham dress, and instantly hit a number of best-dressed lists.
She then hit headlines by telling an E! News fashion reporter that, unlike most celebrities, she didn’t hire a stylist to help her pick out a dress. She said she shopped at department store Neiman Marcus and picked out her own frock, admitting she usually can’t find enough alternative designer dresses in her size. “I like having lots of options for a size six, as opposed to maybe one option, so I always go to department stores,” the actress explained. But the dress was only intended for a one-night turn on the red carpet, and now Howard is giving fans the chance to own it via an online auction on Charity Buzz. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the dress is listed at $4,800, and bidding has started at at $1,000. Proceeds from the auction, which ends on January 27, will benefit The HALO Foundation, an organization committed to the care of children in need. Meanwhile, fashion fans who loved the star’s look at the Globes and miss out on the auction item, will be able to pick up the Jenny Packham gown at Neiman Marcus stores.
