Celine Dion to Resume Las Vegas Residency in February
Celine Dion will not resume her Las Vegas residency until February despite false reports suggesting she would be getting back on stage just a day after her husband’s funeral.
The pop star’s longtime partner and manager Rene Angelil passed away last week after a battle with cancer, and his family and friends are due to gather on Friday for a memorial service at the Notre-Dame Basilica in Montreal, Canada, where he married Celine in 1994.
Celine took a break from performing at Caesars Palace in Sin City to deal with the tragedy, and reports suggested she would be getting back to work on Saturday, just 24 hours after laying her husband to rest.
However, a representative for Caesars Palace has confirmed Celine will in fact be returning to the stage on February 23.
The spokesperson told the New York Post gossip column Page Six, “Celine was never confirmed to perform on Saturday. Elton John is currently performing… this weekend.”
