Celebrities including Cher and Chris Evans are celebrating Emmanuel Macron’s victory in the French presidential election. Macron defeated controversial far-right candidate Marine Le Pen in Sunday’s election and celebrities have taken to social media to congratulate him. “Beloved, Beautiful, You’ve Not Been Cowered, You’ve Shown The World French Courage…,” Cher wrote on Twitter. “Congrats France!” Captain America star Evans adds. “Whippin (sic) in the kitchen!!! Vive La France!!,” Madonna adds. Macron was also previously endorsed by former U.S. President Barack Obama and has received a congratulatory message from President Donald Trump. “Congratulations to Emmanuel Macron on his big win today as the next President of France,” he writes. “I look very much forward to working with him!” With his victory, the 39-year-old has become the youngest president in the country’s history.
