R&B star John Legend and his supermodel wife Chrissy Teigen are preparing to become first-time parents.
The Sports Illustrated cover girl took to Instagram on Monday to share the news she’s pregnant, just weeks after revealing she had been struggling to conceive.
Posting a photo of Legend sweetly touching her stomach, Teigen wrote, “John and I are so happy to announce that we are pregnant. As many of you know, we’ve been trying to have a baby for a while now. It hasn’t been easy, but we kept trying because we can’t wait to bring our first child into the world and grow our family. We’re so excited that it’s finally happening. Thank you for all your love and well wishes. I look forward to all the belly touching!”
Teigen, 29, went public with the couple’s conception struggles last month during an episode of her new chat show FABLife, saying, “I will say, honestly, John and I are having trouble. We would have kids five, six years ago if it’d happened. But my gosh, it’s been a process!”
She went on to discuss the issue with co-host Tyra Banks, who also revealed she had been trying to have a child. The models also shared their difficult experiences with in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments.
Legend and Teigen wed in 2013.
