Cindy Crawford Hints at Retirement
Cindy Crawford has hinted she’s ready to retire from modeling after she turns 50. The fashion star hit the scene in the 1980s and was among the famous breed of ’90s supermodels, but as she approaches her 50th birthday in February, the brunette beauty admits she’s ready to pull back from her career since she feels like she’s accomplished as much as she can over the years.
“I feel like I’m allowing that to have been great, and I’m celebrating it. And I’m sure I’ll have my picture taken for 10 more years, but not as a model anymore. And that’s OK,” Crawford told United Airlines’ Rhapsody magazine. “I’ve done it. I’ve worked with all these incredible photographers. What else do I need to do? I can’t keep reinventing myself. I shouldn’t have to keep proving myself. I don’t want to.” However, Crawford has passed on her modeling genes on to 14-year-old daughter Kaia, an aspiring model herself who has already found a strong fan base of her own. “They are all taking pictures of themselves, or having their friends take pictures for their social media,” Crawford explained. “Kaia would be modeling even if she weren’t modeling. All the girls are modeling. They are not dependent only on how a photographer sees them. They have a direct relationship with their fans.”
