Comedian Jeffrey Gurian Recovering From Heart Attack
Comedian Jeffrey Gurian spent Christmas Day in a New York City hospital after suffering a heart attack in the week leading up to the holidays.
The former dentist-turned-funnyman collapsed on the street outside the Radio City Music Hall venue and is currently recovering at Lenox Hill Hospital after undergoing surgery.
Gurian, who turns 59 on Tuesday, told the New York Post he is “very grateful to be alive.”
The health crisis occurred just days after he joined fellow comics Nick Kroll and John Mulaney at a mock press conference to promote their new stage show, Oh, Hello, at the Cherry Lane Theater.
Gurian previously served as a writer for the likes of Rodney Dangerfield, Joan Rivers, Jerry Lewis, Andrew ‘Dice Clay, and the late Robin Williams.
