Poor Dog Believes the Moon is a Ball, Attempts to Catch It

Awwww, poor Blue.

The dog pictured above went to catch a ball that was thrown in the air by her owner, but the cute little thing was confused when it didn’t come down. (She must have not noticed where it went.) Instead, Blue was convinced that something way up in the sky was the ball. Too bad for her it’s not coming down.

The problem? It wasn’t a ball; it was the moon! We can’t imagine what Blue was thinking as this scene unfolded and the “ball” remained stuck in the sky.

The dog looked up, barking, and paced back and forth in her Gray, Maine, backyard as she waited for it to come down.

It was a hilarious, adorable moment, but even her owners felt a hint of guilt.

“Oh my god, this is terrible,” Blue’s owner said with a laugh. “You poor baby.”

As it turns out, this wouldn’t be the last time that Blue mistook the moon for a ball. Jessica Raspbury tried this trick a second time — the first occurrence appeared to be happenstance — and again her pup was fooled.
