Dolly Parton Shuts Down Cancer Rumors
Country music icon Dolly Parton has shot down tabloid gossip suggesting she is battling stomach cancer.
The “Jolene” singer, 69, made headlines Wednesday when sources told National Enquirer she had recently been admitted to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, Tennessee for treatment for kidney stones.
However, the insider alleged Parton believed the abdomen pain could actually be a lot more serious.
The source said, “So far, the treatments haven’t worked. She’s undergoing more testing. The scary thing is she has the symptoms of stomach cancer – and this is what she could be hiding.”
The false report has since prompted Parton to address the claims directly and assure fans she is well.
A statement issued to WENN read: “It is true that I had kidney stones. I had them removed three weeks ago and I am doing just fine! I am back to work… There is absolutely no truth at all that I have stomach cancer. I love and appreciate everyone’s concern.”
