‘Empire’ Star Kaitlin Doubleday Weds
Empire star Kaitlin Doubleday has married DJ Devin Lucien in a rain-soaked ceremony in California. The couple married in a hillside venue overlooking the ocean in Big Sur on Friday in front of 140 close friends and family members.
Doubleday, who plays Rhonda in the hip-hop drama series, confirmed the news to Us Weekly, and gushed, “I’m excited to be married to (Devin). I just want to have fun and go on our honeymoon and enjoy our home and have fun with our friends and not be thinking about planning a wedding. I’m really excited about that.” Empire co-creator Lee Daniels, and Rhonda’s co-star Gabourey Sidibe, also attended the wedding, with Daniels sharing a picture of the happy couple walking down the aisle as husband and wife. “Rhonda got married!!!!! Congrats Kaitlin & Devin… More Empire children getting married!!,” he captioned the image on Instagram. Guests had to reach for their umbrellas during the ceremony, but that failed to put a dampener on the celebrations. Doubleday, who wore a beautiful Mark Zunino bridal gown, recently admitted she just couldn’t wait to dance all night long at her nuptials. “I’m feeling incredibly excited about the weekend,” she told E! News earlier this week. “I can’t believe that everyone I love is gonna be in the same room at the same time and I can’t wait to celebrate and dance all night long!” The actress got engaged last May and broke the news on Instagram. “Cheers!!!!!!!! To the most memorable night of my life thus far @devinlucien,” she captioned a photo of the pair at dinner with her engagement ring on full display. Doubleday’s marriage is the second Empire wedding to take place in the past month. Actress Grace Gealey and co-star Trai Byers, who plays Kaitlin’s onscreen husband, secretly wed in a ceremony on the Grand Cayman Island in the Caribbean on April 14.
