Talk about making someone’s day!

Lillie Wright and Trevor Jefferson have been friends for a very long time, which made Wright’s decision to ask Jefferson to prom pretty easy. Wright knew that when she asked the question, it had to be a super special moment. Wright went down to Beau’s Coffee shop where Jefferson works and popped the big question with cameras rolling.

Wright held up a sign that read, “I like coffee, I like tea, will you go to prom with me?”

Jefferson, who has Down syndrome, took some time to read the sign out loud and process the question. Once he realized what Wright was asking him, he instantly responded “Yes!”

“She’s a special young lady,” Wright’s mother shared with the Star News Online. “She has a younger brother and sister with Down syndrome, and she just accepts people for who they are. I’m just so proud of her.”

Wright’s mother, Amy, founded the Wilmington business where Jefferson works. The company “provides work opportunities for area residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.”

The video of the promposal quickly went viral after it was posted to the Beau’s Coffee Facebook page. The video has already been viewed over 400,o00 times.
