Johnny Depp’s Lawyers to Depose Estranged Wife on a Saturday
Johnny Depp’s lawyers have set a date to depose his estranged wife after she expressed concerns about the schedule they offered her.
Amber Heard explained she would be in London filming the new Justice League movie on the two dates suggested, but offered to fly back to Los Angeles for a weekend showdown with the Pirates of the Caribbean star on August 6.
Depp’s legal team agreed the date in court on Tuesday, during an emergency hearing.
The judge ruled that the actress must answer questions from Depp’s lawyers on that date, according to paperwork obtained by People.
His legal representatives initially wanted to depose Heard in early June, but the court denied the request because Depp’s lawyers failed to give the actress the required 10-day notice. Heard’s attorney also insisted she was unavailable to be deposed at that time due to scheduling conflicts with her friend’s engagement party in New Jersey.
Heard filed for divorce in May following an alleged fight with Depp. The couple was married for just 15 months. She has obtained a restraining order against the actor after claiming he physically and emotionally abused her throughout their relationship.
Depp’s lawyers have dismissed the allegations.
