Justin Bieber Granted Extra Time to Complete Community Service
Justin Bieber was ordered to serve five days of manual labor last summer 2014, and enroll in an anger management course as part of his punishment for allegedly hurling eggs at his former neighbor’s property in a gated community in Calabasas, California in January, 2014.
He completed the therapy portion of his sentence in May 2015, and during a progress hearing on Monday, August 3, 2015, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Leland Harris revealed he was satisfied that Bieber is complying with the terms of his probation. He then gave the singer, who did not attend the hearing, extra time to fulfill his community service, which was previously delayed after he sustained an ankle injury. Bieber’s lawyer revealed the star is close to finishing the work. He will remain on probation until 2016. He settled the $80,000 in restitution he was ordered to pay his victim, Jeff Schwartz, in 2014, and has since moved out of the area. However, the 21-year-old’s legal woes aren’t over – Schwartz is suing the star for the emotional distress caused by his bad behavior.
