Kanye West Evacuated From Studio Due to Fire – Report
Kanye West was evacuated from his New York City fashion studio after a fire reportedly broke out on Monday. The “Stronger” hitmaker was reportedly working on his upcoming Yeezy Season 4 fashion collection when a fire broke out in the building, and emergency services were called.
Pictures obtained by Mail Online show West walking across the street in an all-white ensemble while members of the fire crew stand in the background, and others show firefighters on a fire truck’s turntable ladder to get nearer the blaze. It isn’t known how big the fire was, how long it took to put out or if it caused any damage, but the incident didn’t seem to affect West’s Saint Pablo Tour show later that evening at Madison Square Garden. The rapper reportedly performed in front of celebrity guests including comedian Chris Rock and fellow rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs, who collaborated onstage with West at his concert on Sunday. West’s wife Kim Kardashian and daughter North West, who both wore matching sequined dresses, also came to support the first of his two shows at the venue. West is set to debut the Yeezy Season 4 line on Wednesday, the opening day of New York Fashion Week. The rapper caused controversy last week on Sept. 4 when he put out a casting call notice requesting only “multiracial” models apply for the show. He held auditions for models at Jack Studios in New York on Sunday and informed applicants on Twitter, “No makeup please come as you are.” Users took to Twitter to complain about the advert, with one writing, “Hmm @ multiracial women only… Does that include the dark skinned multiracial women or just the light skinned ones?” and another adding, “Now imagine if a white singer said ‘WHITE WOMEN ONLY?’”
