Kanye West Vows to Skip Grammys if Frank Ocean Is Not Nominated
Kanye West has threatened to boycott next year’s Grammy Awards if his pal Frank Ocean isn’t nominated.
News emerged this week that the R&B star’s Blonde and Endless albums are not eligible for the Grammys, because no one at his record label or management company submitted the releases for contention.
West believes Grammy bosses should make an exception because the albums were clearly among the best of the year, and during a concert in Oakland, California on Saturday night, he made his feelings clear, stating, “I’ll tell you this right now, if his album is not nominated in no categories, I’m not showing up to the Grammys.
“As artists, we’ve got to come together to fight the bulls**t.”
Both Ocean’s albums were released well before the 2017 Grammy eligibility cut-off date of September 30.
