Katie Holmes Dismisses ‘Dawson’s Creek’ Remake Rumors
Katie Holmes has dismissed any plans for a remake of Dawson’s Creek, the teen drama series that made her famous, saying it wouldn’t work in 2016. In an interview with the Today show, Holmes revealed she doesn’t think that the series, which also starred James Van Der Beek, Joshua Jackson, and Michelle Williams, would be relevant if it followed in the footsteps of the recently revamped 90s TV program Full House.
“When I look back at the show, it had a certain charm,” the actress, who starred as Joey Potter, said. “It was before the Internet really took over, it was before iPhones, it was before this kind of new form of communication, and it had this certain feeling that was of the ’90s. I don’t think that in today’s world, you could achieve that same kind of feeling.” The teen drama show, which featured characters coming out as gay in high school, teen pregnancy, depression, and sexual health, ran from 1998 to 2003.
