Kylie Jenner: ‘I Don’t Want to Be Famous Forever’
Kylie Jenner wants to “stop being famous” at some point in the future. The 18-year-old reality star has been in the spotlight since her family’s show Keeping Up With the Kardashians debuted when she was just 10 years old.
And while she has turned the attention into a multi-million dollar brand, Jenner admits she is hoping that her time as a celebrity will come to an end when she’s older. “I know I don’t want to be famous forever,” Jenner told Allure. “There’s gonna be a time where I feel comfortable, I’m at a good place in my life, and I just stop.” Despite her comments, including, “I can’t remember what it’s like not to be famous,” Jenner admits that her unusual position has given her a different kind of appreciation for what’s special in her life. “I’m a special case,” she added. “I’m able to appreciate what true happiness is all about. A new car, that’s not real happiness. That lasts a month. That’s short-term happiness.” Jenner is no stranger to splashing out on a new vehicle, and is regularly seen out and about in shiny motors. But when it comes to what constitutes true happiness, Jenner is all about “being with your friends” and having time with her family. She also has the added benefit of having a family who have all experienced the same rise to fame that she has. “Honestly, if I didn’t have my family in my life, and I was going through all of this myself, I don’t know what I would do,” she admitted. While Jenner is an avid social media user, including posting videos on Snapchat, she adds that the image she portrays on these mediums is a limited one. “On Snapchat I show people what I think they want to see,” she explained. “That’s not me. It’s a projected image. A brand. I’m not a different person. I just don’t show all of me.”
