Lady Gaga Shares Powerful Anti-Sexual Violence Photos
Lady Gaga shared powerful images aimed at combating sexual violence on her social media account.
The photos showed young women in different everyday settings and were stamped with slogans such as,”This is not a bar, this is your classroom” and “This is not a date, this is an interview.”

“Join us and raise your voice to make change. Protect every woman and man from sexual violence in the workplace and beyond”, she wrote on one photo. Another snap was of a recording studio, captioned: “This is not a bedroom this is my office.” The photos were accompanied by the hashtags, “#FreeEveryWoman #FreeEveryMan #FreeKesha” as she encouraged her followers to support the cause as well as lending her voice to fellow singer Kesha’s allegations that her producer Dr. Luke drugged and raped her.
Gaga has previously revealed she is a survivor of sexual assault, which made song “Til It Happens To You” all the more personal.
The singer co-wrote the tune with legendary songwriter Diane Warren, for the documentary The Hunting Ground. However, they lost out on the Oscar to Sam Smith’s “Writing’s On The Wall,” from James Bond movie Spectre.
“She (Gaga) spent a great deal of time with the survivors throughout the rehearsal process, and they formed a unique and meaningful bond,” Amy Ziering, a producer on the documentary, told People.
“Many of them told me that speaking with her and hearing her share her story and what she’d learned was healing and life-changing.”
Further proof of their unbreakable bond emerged on Wednesday after Gaga shared photos of a new tattoo, she and the sexual assault survivors who joined her on the Oscars stage, all had inked on their bodies.
