Imagine you’re camping somewhere in the wilderness and you wake up in your tent on a blissful morning only to discover a bunch of thirsty lions licking the water droplets off your tent. Yeah, that’s a pee-your-pants kind of moment, especially when a tent is really just a thin fabric layer between you and a lion’s jaws.

This is exactly what happened recently to some travelers in Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park, a wildlife preserve in the Kalahari Desert region between Botswana and South Africa.

Facebook user Francie Francisca Lubbe posted the terrifying yet stunning video, which has since garnered nearly 500,000 views on YouTube.

She somehow manages to hold the camera steady as she films the lions, only a few inches away, licking the condensation off their tent.

Perhaps a hotel would be worth the splurge next time.
