Met Gala 2015 – It Was A Sheer Fashion Showdown!
Holy hotness!!! It was a sheer fashion showdown at this year’s Met Gala. Everyone waited in anticipation to see how their favorite stars would interpret this years theme: “China: Through The Looking Glass,” but it was the stars who flaunted their famous figures in nearly-nude ensembles that stole the show. Who do you think wore this barely-there trend best?
All hail!!!! We here at YDD unanimously agree that Queen B not only slayed this nearly-nude trend, but she was, hands down, the best dressed of the night. The outstanding Givenchy gown covered in strategically placed gems, paired with her hair in a playful high pony and make-up done to perfection… She looked FLAWLESS from head to toe. Who can out-do this? Nobody. But there were some other stars who put up a good fight, one of them being Mrs. Kim Kardashian West.
Kim looked absolutely stunning in this white, embellished sheer gown designed by Peter Dondas for Roberto Cavalli, featuring a white feathered train. With her make-up looking simple and elegant and her hair pulled back in a slick pony, she looked beautiful and confident as her notorious curves were on full display. Kim definitely looked incredible, but there are always going to be haters. This time the controversy wasn’t about the amount of skin she showed, but how much she resembled Beyonce’s headline-making look at the 2012 Met Gala.
As flattering as it is to be compared to Beyonce, Kim must have wanted to seem more original than someone who would copy a look from only 3 years ago. She took to Instagram putting those rumors to rest.
Mrs. Kardashian West explained to her followers that her dress was actually inspired by the Bob Mackie gown that Cher wore to her first Met Gala in 1974. Either way, she looked gorgeous, but there was one more star who gave both Kim and Queen Bey a run for their money at this years Met Gala.
Jennifer Lopez also rocked the nearly-nude trend, but Ms. Lopez deserves much respect because she incorporated the theme of the night in a sheer Atelier Versace gown that had a sequin dragon design covering the star in all the necessary places. Her hair and make-up were kept simple, keeping our attention on the “Booty” singers infamous curves.
