Parents Witness Miracle After a Twin Dies During Childbirth

Talk about a miracle! Kate and David Ogg always wanted a family, but struggled to conceive. After three years of trying, the couple learned they were finally pregnant with twins. They were thrilled and planned to name their new babies, Jamie and Emily. However, Kate Ogg’s pregnancy took a quick turn six-and-a-half months into the pregnancy and the babies had to be delivered prematurely.
During the birth, the Ogg’s were told that their son Jamie did not survive. “He stopped breathing and his heartbeat was nearly gone. After 20 minutes they stopped working on him,” Kate Ogg told the Daily Mail. Before taking him away, the doctors gave him to Kate and David to hold. The couple cradled him lovingly, wrapping him in their arms to give him a warm embrace. All of a sudden, they felt a movement and were shocked. The couple held on to their son keeping in constant skin-to-skin contact. The tiny newborn then opened his eyes and grabbed David Ogg’s finger. “It was the most astounding and amazing thing that had ever happened,” Kate Ogg shared (video below). “We realized it was because we had held him and because he had the body heat of his mother and father.” “If we had let the doctor walk out of the room with him, Jamie would have been dead,” Kate Ogg explained. Thanks to a miracle, the Ogg’s were able to bring home both of their babies. Jamie and Emily are now five years old and are both happy and healthy. Shortly after the twins were born, the Ogg’s welcomed another child named Charlie, who is four years old. The Ogg’s have set up a foundation called Jamie’s Gift to support premature and sick newborns. To learn more about the Ogg’s and their incredible story, check out the video below.
