Police Called to Set of Jennifer Lopez TV Show After Shooting
Gunmen reportedly fired shots on the set of Jennifer Lopez’s police drama Shades of Blue on Wednesday night.
According to Deadline, police were called to secure the area after gunmen reportedly chased production staff on the set of the NBC cop drama, which stars Lopez as Harlee Santos, a single mother and NYPD detective forced to work in the FBI’s anti-corruption task force.
The 47-year-old actress/singer had reportedly already left for the day when the unidentified men invaded the set of the show at its Brooklyn location.
Editors at the news outlet report chaos ensued after shots were fired, and police were subsequently called to deal with the real-life drama on the set of the show which centers on a group of corrupt NYPD officers.
While Lopez apparently just missed the fracas, recurring guest star Kathryn Kates was reportedly still on set, and two female PAs were allegedly being chased by the perpetrators.
Police quickly took control of the situation and sources close to the production confirmed to Deadline that nobody was injured in the incident. However, cast and crew members are said to be shaken.
Shades of Blue, which also stars Ray Liotta and The Sopranos‘ Drea de Matteo, is currently filming its second season for a midseason premiere.
The actual NYPD has yet to comment on the incident.
