The bagel of your dreams is here. Well, it’s actually been here for about 20 years, but it just recently went viral. Say “Hello” to The Bagel Stores‘s famous Rainbow Bagels.
“Rainbow bagel?” you say. “What kind of sorcery is this?”
It’s not sorcery, my friend. It’s the creation of a simple bagel store in hip Williamsburg, Brooklyn. A video from INSIDER Food shows Bagel Store owner Scot Rossilo discussing the tricky and meticulous process that goes into creating these beautiful bagels. While not the only colorful bagels the store sells (they do Halloween and cotton candy colors), they certainly are the most popular.
The Rainbow Bagels will cost you $3.95 a piece, but that’s a pretty good deal considering how long they take to make.
The Daily Meal reports that 100 of these bagels take five hours to make. In the same amount of time, however, The Bagel Store could make 1,000 regular bagels.
To add to the Willy Wonka-like experience, the bagel is filled with a cream cheese frosting that is mixed with Funfetti cake mix and topped with sprinkles. The result, according to the video, is like having cake for breakfast. What more could you want?
Brooklynites are losing their minds over this spectacular rainbow bagel.
