Scott Weiland Laid To Rest In Hollywood
Tragic rocker Scott Weiland was laid to rest in Los Angeles on Thursday. The former Stone Temple Pilots and Velvet Revolver frontman’s body was found on his tourbus shortly before a scheduled concert in Minnesota last week.
His low-key funeral at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery in Los Angeles brought out members of his former bands, and Chris Kushner, the wife of Velvet Revolver guitarist Dave Kushner, took to Instagram after the farewell, writing, “A very sad day when (you) bury a friend. He was a good man. Don’t believe everything (you) read. Remember, we were all there.” She later revealed the funeral was filled with “love and funny beautiful stories about Scott.” Reports suggest Weiland, a recovering substance abuser, died of a cardiac arrest, but police found cocaine, Xanax, synthetic opiates, sleeping pills, Viagra and medication used to treat his bipolar disorder on the tour bus and in the singer’s bedroom. A full toxicology report to determine the exact cause of the rock star’s death is expected to be concluded in January.
