Singer Kandi Burruss Gives Birth
R&B singer and reality star Kandi Burruss has given birth to a baby boy.
The former Xscape star, who is also a cast member of The Real Housewives of Atlanta, welcomed her first child with husband Todd Tucker on Wednesday.
Tucker alerted fans to his son’s impending arrival, when he took to Instagram hours before the delivery to share a photo of himself and his wife in the hospital.
“Getting ready for Baby Tucker 1.6.16!” read the caption. “I can’t wait to meet my little man!”
Burruss, 39, has since confirmed the tot’s arrival to People.
“Todd and I have been waiting so long for his delivery and he is so very perfect,” says the new mom.
The couple, which wed in 2014, has yet to reveal the newborn’s name. He is a younger brother for Burruss’ 13-year-old daughter Riley, and Tucker’s 19-year-old daughter Kaela – both from previous relationships.
Burruss and Tucker documented their struggles to conceive on The Real Housewives of Atlanta, revealing in April they had been undergoing in vitro fertilization treatments in a bid to start a family together.
“Just pray for us that everything is great and we get a healthy baby!” she told E! News at the time. “My family definitely, they definitely want a baby for me and Todd [sic].”
