Suicidal Singer Kehlani Placed on Psychiatric Hold
The “Did I” star, 20, hit rock bottom after she was attacked on social media following reports suggesting she had cheated on basketball player Kyrie Irving with her ex. She took to Instagram in the early hours of Tuesday and shared a photo of herself in a hospital bed, with an intravenous tube in her arm. “Today I wanted to leave this earth,” she captioned the now-deleted image. “Being completely selfish for once. Never thought I’d get to such a low point. But.. Don’t believe the blogs you read .. No one was cheated on and I’m not a bad person… Everyone is hurt and everyone is in a place of misunderstanding… “But as of today, I had no single wish to see tomorrow… But God saved me for a reason, and for that… I must be grateful… Cuz (sic) I’m not in heaven right now for a reason…” She then tried to clear up the unfounded claims about her love life, revealing she and Cleveland Cavaliers ace Irving, who she became linked to late last year, recently parted ways, and she has since reunited with former lover PartyNextDoor. Kehlani went on to praise the Drake affiliate, real name Jahron Anthony Brathwaite, for remaining by her side in hospital after reportedly saving her life. Now, TMZ reports paramedics who responded to an emergency call at the singer’s Hollywood home on Monday determined Kehlani posed a threat to herself, and placed her on a psychiatric hold. She was admitted to a local medical center, where she underwent a mental evaluation. It is not known how long Kehlani will remain under doctors’ care, but a source close to the troubled star tells TMZ, “She’s doing much better.” Her representatives have yet to comment on the medical emergency.
