Susan Sarandon: ‘Are My Boobs Really More Important Than the Nobel Peace Prize?’
Sarandon certainly looked great, but she can’t believe the outfit was a bigger splash than the fact she became a Nobel Peace Prize nominee. Her nod was announced around the time everyone was chatting about her bra-baring attire, and she assumed being up for an award of such prestige would be a much more interesting topic than her bosom. “The thing that’s really funny is I got a Nobel Peace Prize nomination the same week and nobody wrote about that,” she told the New York Daily News [email protected] column. “It didn’t occur to me that it was going to be such a big deal. Everyone’s always wearing dresses where they’re hanging out all over the place.” Sarandon’s Nobel Peace Prize nomination stems from the work she performed in Greece last year when the Academy Award winner helped Syrian refugees. She has been a longtime activist and was appointed a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador in 1999. Should Sarandon pick up the Nobel Peace Prize, the accolade will not be her first humanitarian triumph. She received the Action Against Hunger Humanitarian Award in 2006.
