Tatyana Ali Pregnant and Planning to Wed
The Fresh Prince of Bel Air star Tatyana Ali is pregnant. The 37-year-old actress, who played Ashley Banks on Will Smith’s hit TV show, revealed the big news while telling Entertainment Tonight that she and her fiance, Dr. Vaughn Rasberry, are planning to tie the knot later this year.
“Planning our wedding has been so exciting, but when we found out we were expecting, our perspective shifted completely,” Ali said. “We want our ceremony to really celebrate our newest blessing!” The actress has hired top wedding planner Michael Russo to organize her nuptials – he helped plan Kevin Jonas and Danielle Deleasa’s wedding back in 2009. Ali and Rasberry have been dating for 18 months, since hooking up on a dating website. “Vaughn and I met on eHarmony,” she revealed. “It was my first time dating online. We wrote letters for months before we decided to Skype. And then, of course, met.” And, as for the proposal… “He took me on a 45-minute hike in the Redwoods (in California), which he knows I absolutely love and proposed in the most picturesque clearing. Just the two of us. It was so thoughtful and perfect,” Ali shared. In addition to the exciting personal news, Ali also has her attention on professional projects. The actress will be starring in forthcoming dramas The Reason and Supermodel, both due to reach audiences this year. When asked in the past if she feels her role on The Fresh Prince of Bel Air ever overshadows other projects, Ali maintained an optimistic outlook on participating in the show. “It doesn’t bother me at all,” she smiled in an interview with Juicy magazine. “It’s really special to have been a part of something that meant so much to people. For it to be remembered so well, it’s actually nice!”
