Taylor Swift Countersues Alleged Groper Who Lost His Job
Taylor Swift has filed a countersuit against a radio host who alleged her groping story cost him his job. David Mueller filed suit against the singer last month, claiming he had been fired from KYGO after Swift made false allegations about him acting inappropriately during a meet-and-greet at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado in 2013.
He also alleged he had been banned from the “Bad Blood” star’s concerts. According to the countersuit obtained by People, Mueller admitted Swift had been assaulted but blamed “his superior” at the radio station. Swift’s lawyers wrote: “Ms. Swift knows exactly who committed the assault – it was Mueller… Resolution of this Counterclaim will demonstrate that Mueller alone was the perpetrator of the humiliating and wrongful conduct targeted against Ms. Swift, and will serve as an example to other women who may resist publicly reliving similar outrageous and humiliating acts.” Mueller and his girlfriend were reportedly chatting with Swift backstage when he “intentionally reached under her skirt, and groped with his hand an intimate part of her body in an inappropriate manner, against her will, and without her permission.” According to her legal papers, Mueller “did not merely brush his hand against Ms. Swift while posing for the photograph, he lifted her skirt and groped her.” Swift, who was “surprised, upset, offended, and alarmed,” informed her photographer, tour manager and members of her security team. The singer is demanding a jury trial and will donate any money she wins from the suit to “charitable organizations dedicated to protecting women from similar acts of sexual assault and personal disregard.”
