Calling all fans of The Magic School Bus!!
ShaRee Castlebury, a teacher from Lawton, Oklahoma’s Pat Henry Elementary School, found a great way to show off her students’ creations from the school year and basically turned herself into a real-life Ms. Frizzle. The first-grade teacher purchased a plain white dress and gave out fabric markers to her students. Her students then covered the dress with original drawings including hearts, flowers, kites, and rainbows.
On the last day of school, Castlebury wore the dress to honor her students.
Castlebury posted the photos of the dress to Facebook with the caption, “My first idea that is original!! This is all artwork courtesy of MY first grade class! Who am I wearing? Room 219. Happy last day of school with my precious Picasso’s!”
The photos quickly went viral and have already been shared over 58,000 times.
Castlebury also shared on Facebook how “blessed” she felt to be able to teach that specific group of students during the past year.
“So blessed to be a teacher. I hope each year my kids always know how loved and cherished they are by me…they become part of my family without even realizing how much they touch me on an hourly basis.”
Castlebury now plans to make this a yearly tradition with each of her graduating classes.
