On Wednesday, Marvel Studios and Entertainment Weekly provided readers with the first official look at the highly anticipated third installment of Marvel’s Thor film franchise.

Thor: Ragnarok will take the titular hero, along with fellow Avenger The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), back into outer space as Thor (Chris Hemsworth) searches for clues to prophetic — and cryptic — visions he had in the blockbuster smash, Avengers: Age of Ultron. His visions revolve around the mystery of the “infinity stones,” rare gems that grant powers to anyone who wields them. They have been a driving subplot throughout nearly all of Marvel’s movies.

The “infinity stones” will take centerstage in the upcoming two-part series, Avengers: Infinity War, where villain Thanos (Josh Brolin) seeks the stones for an unrevealed purpose. The images from Entertainment Weekly released Wednesday give fans their first look at a short-haired Thor, along with glimpses of Ragnarok‘s villain, Hela (Cate Blanchett), as well as characters The Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) and Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson). See the images below. Thor: Ragnarok hits theaters Nov. 3, 2017.
