Tom Hanks Too Busy For ‘Doctor Who’
Hollywood actor Tom Hanks has turned down a role in hit sci-fi show Doctor Who because he is too busy. The series’ current Time Lord, Peter Capaldi, was asked to land Hanks as a guest star after a producer on the show found out the two actors would be working together this week.
Capaldi agreed with the request, but Hanks insisted he did not have time to film a cameo appearance. “Doctor Who is a great venue for any kind of actor,” Capaldi declared during an appearance on U.K. TV show Good Morning Britain. “I was working with Tom Hanks last night and the producer was onto me asking me to get him involved. I did have a word with him but he’s very busy at the moment.” Doctor Who has featured a huge number of high-profile guest appearances over the years, with stars including Michael Sheen, Bill Nighy, Sir Ian McKellen, John Hurt, Kylie Minogue and Derek Jacobi all turning up on the show. However, Capaldi has one particularly reclusive star in mind as his dream guest: “I think it would be good to have some rock stars… like David Bowie.”
