U.S. TV Personality Tamron Hall Shaken Up by Best Friend Prince’s Death
Newswoman Tamron Hall has been left floored by the death of her close friend Prince, revealing she had to turn down the chance to meet with the late star last weekend.
The Today co-host, who featured on the cover of the singer/songwriter’s 2015 single “If Eye Could Get Ur Attention,” was a no-show on the show on Friday, but she phoned in to discuss her feelings after the shock death of her friend on Thursday.
In a message that was read on the show, Hall said: “We talked for hours (on) Monday and I said he did not sound sick. He assured me he was OK.”
“All Saturday he kept saying he was fine and asked me to come to Paisley (Park) to see his new piano and for a fan party. I was working and didn’t go. Monday, we exchanged emails after I sent him a video from a restaurant playing a song. I talked about how he was everywhere I go. It was a sweet moment and I had no idea it would be our last time talking. I never imagined it.”
Hall also tweeted: “‘Like a bird without a song’. I’ve lost one of my best friends today. I know he would have advice right now, Prince I’m listening as always.”

Prince, 57, was found dead at his Paisley Park home near Minneapolis, Minnesota on Thursday morning.
His fan party, to which he invited Tamron Hall, was held at the compound on Saturday night – one day after a health scare forced the pilot of Prince’s private jet to make an emergency landing in Illinois on the way back from a gig in Atlanta, Georgia.
It was reported the superstar was battling a bad case of influenza. He was treated in a local hospital and then discharged to recuperate at home.
