The Young and the Restless leads Daytime Emmy Awards nominations

Long-running  soap opera The Young and the Restless has landed an impressive 27 nominations at the upcoming Daytime Emmy Awards.

The hit show will go up against The Bold and the Beautiful, Days of Our Lives and General Hospital for Outstanding Drama Series, while the show’s stars, including Tracey E. Bregman, Justin Hartley, Kristoff St. John, Steve Burton, and Hunter King have also landed nods in the acting categories.


General Hospital has 24 nominations, and The Bold and the Beautiful earned 23 nods.

Meanwhile, comedienne Ellen DeGeneres is the frontrunner yet again in the chat show categories with 10 nominations, including Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show, pitting her program against The Talk, The Real, The View and The Wendy Williams Show.

The Daytime Emmy Awards will take place at Westin Bonaventure hotel in Los Angeles on May 1.
