‘Zoolander 2’ Stars Turn Red Carpet into Runway for New York Premiere
Zoolander 2 stars Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson turned the New York City premiere of their newest comedy into a high-fashion runway show on Tuesday night.
The much-anticipated sequel to the style-centered film had its U.S. debut at Lincoln Center, which is the former home of New York Fashion Week.
Two days before the movie is released, Stiller and Wilson dressed in character as models Derek Zoolander and Hansel. Cruz dressed in character as Interpol officer Melanie Valentina.
Will Ferrell, who plays Zoolander’s rival Jacobim Mugatu, also strutted down the catwalk. Actor and screenwriter Justin Theroux was also in character as the Evil DJ. He even took over for DJ Skrillex at the turntables for a few minutes.
In addition to the actors in character, they were joined on the runway by real-life supermodels Gigi Hadid and Stella Maxwell, who both donned new outfits by designer Marc Jacobs.
Zoolander 2, which also features cameos from Justin Bieber, American Vogue Editor-in-Chief Anna Wintour, and models Karlie Kloss and Cara Delevingne, hits cinemas February 12.
