Since getting her start in 1985, Bassett has starred in dozens of films. She’s arguably best known for her autobiographical roles as Tina Turner (What’s Love Got to Do With It), Betty Shabazz (Malcolm X), Katherine Jackson (The Jacksons: An American Dream), Rosa Parks (The Rosa Parks Story), and Coretta Scott King (Betty & Coretta). But the stunning actress has had her share of romance, thriller, and even horror roles, too. Most recently, she co-starred in Marvel’s Black Panther as the mother of Wakandan leader T’Challa.
