The Aliens Return In First Trailer For ‘Independence Day’ Sequel

On Sunday, 20th Century Fox released the first full-length trailer for one of 2016’s most anticipated movies and the sequel to one of summer’s biggest blockbusters of all time.

Independence Day: Resurgence will smash into theaters next summer and see the return of many the original’s famed cast. Watch the trailer below.

“We always knew they were coming back. After INDEPENDENCE DAY redefined the event movie genre, the next epic chapter delivers global spectacle on an unimaginable scale. Using recovered alien technology, the nations of Earth have collaborated on an immense defense program to protect the planet. But nothing can prepare us for the aliens’ advanced and unprecedented force. Only the ingenuity of a few brave men and women can bring our world back from the brink of extinction.”

Stars Jeff Goldblum and Bill Pullman will reprise their roles as David Levinson and President Whitmore, respectively, and will star alongside Liam Hemsworth and William Fichtner. The original’s main star, Will Smith, is not set to return.
