Sometimes pregnancy announcement photos can be a bit boring, with many quite frankly being indistinguishable. However, Todd Krieg and Amanda Diesen chose to do things a bit differently, befitting their relationship.
The couple met when Krieg, a former professional motocross racer, was recovering from a crash that eventually cost him the use of his legs. As Amanda Diesen explains on the couple’s Brides Live Wedding contest entry page:
“I (Amanda) was working as a therapist at a paralysis recovery center; Project Walk in Carlsbad, California. Todd suffered a dirt bike crash in October 2014 and became paralyzed from the chest down. He ventured out to Project Walk from his home in Elyria, Ohio in October 2015 to receive therapy in hopes to regain back some function. Todd had a crush on me and called me the ‘cute therapist,’ and I found him so handsome but was so afraid to be unprofessional and hit on a client. Thankfully Todd got the drunken courage on Halloween night 2015 to confess his attraction for me. When he was done with therapy in summer 2016, he moved back to Ohio. I decided I couldn’t do long distance and knew I wanted to be with him, so I picked up and moved cross country.”
Kreig and Diesen’s relationship continued, and early in 2017 the couple learned they were pregnant. They wanted to announce it in a way that reflected their personalities.
“We knew we wanted to do something fun and goofy, because that’s our relationship,” Diesen told Your Daily Dish. “So we looked through Pinterest for a bunch of ideas and found one where the guy was holding a sign that said ‘I did that’ so we put our own twist on it and jokingly said ‘It still works’… then realized it would be hilarious if we actually did that — so we did!”
Krieg shared the photo on Instagram earlier this month, and the photo quickly gained popularity. As of February 16, it’s garnered over 3,000 likes. Numerous news sources have picked up the story, as well as parent-themed Facebook pages. In addition to the initial photo, a second photo revealing the gender of the baby has garnered an additional 2,000-plus likes.

In response to the viral reaction to their photos, Diesen told Your Daily Dish, “We are so shocked and overwhelmed at the attention it’s gotten. Thankfully the responses have mainly been positive and we have received so much love and support.”
