Army Specialist Gave Great Response When Denied Leave to Go to Baby Shower

On today’s episode of “Is this real or made up for internet fame?” we have a hilarious response from an army specialist to his commanding officer.

The unknown man asks to take leave to go to a baby shower, to which the CO replies, “Men don’t go to baby showers,” and denies his leave.

Obviously frustrated at the blunt response, the army specialist changes the reason for his leave, saying, “Going home to the Appalachian mountains to drink whiskey, wrestle bears, and shoot lots of guns. I also plan to grow out a beard, chop down a hundred trees with my axe and eat 10lbs of thick cut bacon with my wife, whom I plan to have lots of unprotected sex with, because I am a man and that’s just what we do.”

As if that tirade of masculinity wasn’t enough to sway his CO’s sexism, he adds in “Football” at the end.

True or not, that is one great speech to give if anyone tries to force gender norms on you.

It’s also worth pointing out that, traditionally, men didn’t go to baby showers, but that’s frequently changing. It’s common now for both men and women to be invited. However, you still might come across the female-only baby shower.

So, the CO could just be misinformed, or he could be an a$$hole who hates babies. We may never know.
