Diner Delights at Young Stranger Singing ‘And I Am Telling You’

Diners at a McDonald’s in Florida were treated to a serenade of “And I Am Telling You” to go along with their burger and fries. The video captured of then 9-year-old budding actor/singer/dancer Autumn Rae Shannon – according to her IMDB profile —  singing her little heart out at the table next to them has resurfaced on Facebook’s Viral Threads to the delight and dismay of users.

Shannon thanked the girls on Instagram for tweeting the video back then, writing, “NEVER B4 SEEN ORIGINAL FULL VERSION! The ending ME age 9 after dance singing for some girls at McDonalds? thanx for tweeting it back then and getting me heard?”

The video, which shows Shannon belting out her rendition of Jennifer Hudson’s Grammy-winning Dreamgirls song, has received 1,204 shares and over 4,000 comments.

Actually Shannon is not an overnight viral success. She has been pursuing her dream since she was 4 years old according to her YouTube channel – and is an aspiring songwriter as well.

A bit older than her McDonald’s moment, she can be seen sporting braces and singing out to an original tune, “I Wish I Could Fly.” Touted as her new single, the music video was directed by Bruce Wood at Valencia Film School. The short film begins at an audition as she belts out the tune featuring the rap stylings of 2RU.

Shannon is going out for the singing World Championships in 2017 where she may just be discovered.

“And I Am Telling You” sung by Jennifer Hudson received well over 1.6 million views on You Tube.  Shannon has some catching up to do with her vocal chops — but who says a girl can’t dream?
