Baby Born With Electric White Hair Streak… Just Like Her Mom, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother
Just like mom…and her mom…and her mom…and even her mom.
A South Carolina toddler named MilliAnna displays quite a striking birthmark: a strong tuft of white hair right in the middle of her head. The electric white hair didn’t catch anyone in the family by surprise however, as it goes back more than three generations.
MilliAnna’s great-grandmother Jaonne, 59 had it, passed it to her grandmother Jennifer, 41, who in turn gave it to MilliAnna’s mother Brianna, 23.
The condition is known as poliosis or the absence of color in any streak of hair on the body, and is caused by decreased or complete lack of pigmentation. The condition is generally passed down through heredity, though it can be accompanied by complications in some cases.
Brianna was overjoyed to pass down the trait to her daughter, saying, “In elementary school, kids are a little harsher, but when you grow up, it becomes cool. I’m going to tell her, ‘You’re unique, you’re pretty, you’re beautiful.’”
