Blake Shelton and Miranda Lampert Divorcing
Blake Shelton and Miranda Lambert’s reign as country music’s top couple has been cut short. After only 4 years of marriage, the duo is calling it quits.
The news was officiated in a joint statement to Associated Press on Monday, July 20, 2015, but the couple has been hounded by tabloids for years for having troubles in their relationship. Shelton directly addressed the rumors in a 2013 People cover story, and the author proclaimed, “Even amid the rumors, Shelton and Lambert seem undaunted.”
It was just last May, on their 3-year anniversary, that Lambert Instagrammed a photo from their wedding day captioned, “Happy anniversary @blakeshelton! I love you! Cheers to 3 years!”
Shelton responded to his wife’s public display of affection with a loving Tweet.

Despite having previously been open about their relationship via social media, the couple has kept quiet about the split. They told Associated Press, “…we kindly ask for privacy and compassion concerning this very personal matter.” In fact, just hours before the big announcement, Lambert tweeted about her upcoming show.

The estranged couple is allegedly sticking to the terms of its prenuptial agreement, which grants Shelton a ranch in Oklahoma, while Lambert will receive ownership of the pair’s home in Nashville, Tennessee.
