Everyone loves to eat delicious brownies. For this bear, these brownies were just right.
When a woman from Connecticut was making brownies, she got an unexpected visitor. A bear came right up to her glass door and got a little too close for comfort.
“My neighbor across the street just came over in a panic. She’s a little old lady, screaming that a bear got on the back porch and is slamming on her glass door,” her neighbor Bob Belfiore told Connecticut WFSB.
The bear managed to come right up to the slim glass door and would not budge. According to one neighbor, he “moved the screen slider with his paw.”
“He actually left the kitchen area and went to the second set of doors off the deck,” Belfiore said to WFSB. “And I tried those and then went to the third set of doors into the living room and attempted to get into those.”
Belfiore quickly rushed over to help keep the neighbor calm in this stressful situation. No matter what they did, the bear would not back down.
“We have a bear attempting to get into a house and he’s not afraid of noise, screaming or yelling or pounding,” Bob Belfiore said in his call to 911. “Though it looks cute on the railing, this bear was angry about not being able to get at the food.”
By the time the police showed up to the house, the bear decided to finally leave the area. While bear sightings are pretty standard in the area, police explained that situations like this are not very common.
“We do get calls about bears walking in peoples’ yards or crossing the street almost daily. However, those calls we would not categorize as a ‘nuisance bear,’” Avon Police Lt. Kelly Walsh wrote in an email to WFSB.
