Bridget Jones Is Back and Pregnant in New Trailer for ‘Bridget Jones’s Baby’

Bridget Jones is back! And this time she is bringing a baby along for the ride.

Renee Zellweger stopped by the Ellen DeGeneres show on Wednesday and debuted the new trailer for Bridget Jones’s Baby.

The trailer shows the return of Jones, tackling her ever-complicated life. Jones is still single, busy working as a television news producer, and “maintaining good relationship with ex (sic).” So, basically she is still having super awkward encounters with Mark Darcy (Colin Firth).

However in a surprising turn of events, this time around Jones is pregnant. In a not so quick plot twist and in typical Jones’s fashion, she is not sure who the father is. There’s a 50/50 chance it’s Mark, but also a strong possibility it is her new lover, Jack Qwant (Patrick Dempsey). Qwant and Jones have the ultimate meet-cute in a muddy Cinderella-esque shoe rescue, giving him strong competition for Jones’s affection. As Jones claims, “everything is completely under control… sort of.”

“This is part of the new challenge, discovering where she is now in her new life,” Zellweger told Entertainment Weekly. “But as an actress, it feels like stepping back with an old friend. I love this character, I like that she tells stories about what it’s like to be a woman and these really relatable situations at certain times in life. It’s so right to tell a story about Bridget in this stage of her life.”
