Say goodbye to traditional catnip and hello to Pinot Meow, a new wine for cats.
Colorado-based company Apollo Peak has a created a wine especially for cats. The drinks, named Pinot Meow and MosCATo, are composed entirely out of organic catnip and beet juice. The “wine” is also non-alcoholic.
“All of our cat wine products have a proprietary blend that includes all-natural organically grown catnip, fresh beets and natural preservatives to help hold the taste and color,” the company shared on its website. “We believe in natural ingredients for our particularly classy feline friends.”
One single sized bottle costs $5, while an 8-ounce bottle is $12. All of the ingredients are organic and safe for dogs and humans to eat as well.

“It’s made like a tea,” Apollo Peak founder Brandon Zavala explained. “But since we got it to look so much like a wine, we want it to be perceived as a wine by the consumer — that way they can feel as though they are having a glass of wine with their pet.”
While the “wine” is safe for all cats to enjoy, you may still want to check with your vet before indulging in this one-of-a-kind treat.
“Beet juice is not toxic to kitties (or dogs for that matter), but as always check with your vet before giving something like this,” The Pet Show veterinarian Katy Nelson shared with the Huffington Post. “Beet juice has been known to change the color of urine, so especially for diabetic cats or kitties with urinary problems that you monitor their urine, it could cause false positives on their tests.”
The “wine” is currently available in stores locally in Colorado and online. Drink up!!
