Chris Pratt Excited to Film ‘Unbelievable’ ‘Avengers’ Movie
Chris Pratt shared his excitement on the first day of filming the epic Avengers: Infinity War movies in a new behind-the-scenes video.
Pratt, who plays Peter Quill – also known as Star-Lord – in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy movies, could hardly contain himself as he revealed filming had begun on the highly-anticipated all-star ensemble sequels.
“This is our first day, here we are at Pinewood in Atlanta, and it’s actually pretty unbelievable,” he gushes as he stands alongside Robert Downey Jr, who plays Tony Stark’s Iron Man, and new Spider-Man Tom Holland.
“Day one of what promises to be a fun-filled year of lensing,” Downey Jr jokes, seemingly confirming the news the two Infinity War movies will be shot back-to-back.
“I remember actually going to see the first Avengers movie with one of my best mates from home,” 20-year-old Holland recalled. “And I’d never have dreamed to even be in one of these movies, nevermind playing Spider-Man. “Top of the world. Because this is just mind-blowing,” he beams.
Pratt’s Guardians of the Galaxy, which includes Zoe Saldana and Bradley Cooper, will battle alongside Iron Man, Chris Evans as Captain America, Chris Hemsworth as Norse God Thor, and the rest of “Earth’s mightiest heroes” in the two Infinity War movies, Marvel Studios announced with the release of the behind-the-scenes video on Friday.
Downey Jr and Holland also appeared in a Facebook Live event earlier on Friday, during which the Iron Man star took fan questions while on set. Fans got a glimpse of Holland in the six-minute long livestream, whose face was covered in black dots used for CGI recognition. The Q&A ended as Pratt came to tell Downey Jr he was needed as they were ready to shoot.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige said the Infinity War movies are the culmination of the story they started with the 2008’s Iron Man, which was directed by Jon Favreau.
Avengers: Infinity War, is slated for release in May 2018, with the as-yet-untitled follow-up coming in May 2019. Both movies are being directed by Joe and Anthony Russo, who helmed both Captain America sequels – The Winter Soldier in 2014, and Civil War in 2016.
