A Curious Crow Attempted to Fly Away With a Knife From a Crime Scene

Meet Canuck the Crow, a famous bird from Vancouver.
Canuck is pretty friendly and can be recognized from the red band that is tied around his foot. Recently, Canuck got a little too comfortable in his surroundings and messed with a crime scene. Before the cops could shoo the bird away, it picked up a knife from the crime scene.
The Vancouver Police Department explained that they were headed to deal with a car fire at a McDonald’s parking lot when “they were confronted by a man armed with a knife. The man allegedly came at the officers and shots were fired. He was taken into custody and transported to hospital for gunshot and stab wounds.”
However, the whole ordeal really didn’t seem to phase Canuck, who swooped right in, grabbed the knife, and almost flew away with it.

“Yes, the bird did pick up the knife at a crime scene on Tuesday and began to fly away before dropping it,” Constable Brian Montague told BuzzFeed.
This isn’t the first time Canuck has dealt with knives either. On a Facebook page dedicated to the bird called Canuck And I, the crow can be seen holding a knife it its beak.
Canuck also likes to hang out with the Vancouver Police Department. In the last week, the bird was photographed inside of a police car trying to take the F6 key from a computer keyboard.

But hey, at least he stuck around the crime scene long enough to help clean up!
