Drake Loses $60,000 Basketball Bet With French Montana
French Montana is $60,000 richer after winning a basketball bet with fellow rapper Drake.
The Cleveland Cavaliers won the championship on Sunday night after beating the Golden State Warriors in Oakland, California, and it seems the 93-89 victory was an expensive loss for Drake.
In an Instagram video clip, Montana says, “Shout out to my brother, Drizzy Drake, for that 60 bands ’cause you ain’t believe in (Cavaliers star and man of the finals) LeBron (James).”
Basketball fan Drake has been courtside for many of his hometown team, the Toronto Raptors’, games this season, but he’s a huge fan of the Warriors’ Steph Curry even referencing the player in the lyrics to his 2014 track, “0 To 100.”
Drake’s Sunday night wasn’t all bad. The rapper’s “Hotline Bling” picked up the 2016 iHeartRadio Much Music Video Awards biggest prize for Video of the Year, as well as Best Hip Hop Video.
Drake also earned the title of Most Buzzworthy Canadian, and his “My Love” collaboration with Majid Jordan, also won Best MuchFACT Video.
The rap star was not on hand for the Toronto event, as he was ironically filming a music video in the Dominican Republic with French Montana.
